The Land of Prophets, Priests, and Kings
Trip to Israel

With Rex and Kathi Moody

May 15-29, 2023

Kathi and I invite you to join us on an unforgettable trip to the Holy Land. Yes, we are planning another Israel trip. The feedback from our October 2017 Israel trip was off the chart. Some have indicated they want to return on another trip and a lot (!) of interest has been generated for us to plan another trip, especially after needing to cancel our recent trips due to Covid.  So, here we go again.

Visit the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and so much more. We anticipate a great time as we explore the historical places and roots of our Judaic and Christian heritage. With geography, history, archaeology and culture as our resources, the land and people of ancient and modern Israel will become more meaningful, and even provide life applications for us who live in a world far, far removed from Old Testament and New Testament Israel.

To travel the land of the Bible, to read, and to discuss the events of the Bible where they took place is an unforgettable experience. Historical insights and inspirational fellowship will encourage your heart, strengthen your faith and deepen your walk with our Lord.

Enjoy the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the Sea of Galilee where so much of Jesus’ ministry took place. Visit the Mount of Beatitudes and float effortlessly in the Dead Sea. Walk up the steps leading to the area of the ancient Jewish Temple and learn how those in the New Testament took care to be ritually pure before entering. See the area of shops that probably experienced the disfavor of Jesus as they were accused of turning that area from a “place of prayer” into a “den of thieves.” Experience the sights, sounds and fragrances of Jerusalem’s Old City market places and walk down from the Mount of Olives to the area of the Garden of Gethsemane as you gaze across to the walled city of Jerusalem. A recent pilgrim on a prior trip said, “This is like experiencing your faith in 3D.” I think all of us who have visited the Holy Land would agree and we might also add, you will never read your Bible the same again. It will come alive as never before.

I am really excited that Dr. Steve Notley of Nyack College, NY will serve as our teaching guide. Steve is the co-founder of Emmaus Educational Services. Steve is an accomplished scholar, prolific writer of books and articles, is the Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins at Nyack College, and is the Academic Director of the El-Araj Excavation being conducted along the north shore of the Sea of Galilee. He received his Ph.D. from Hebrew University. Steve lived sixteen years in Jerusalem with his wife and four children, during which time he was the founding chair of the New Testament Studies program at the Jerusalem University College.  Steve has been directing groups of students and laypeople to Israel and the eastern Mediterranean region for over 25 years.

Kathi and I are really excited to have so much interest in another trip to Israel. It is hard for me to say "no" so, mark your calendar and join us if you can. It will be great to have you along as repeat visitors or as first-timers to Israel.
