Terms & Conditions

All Emmaus trips are considered unconfirmed (provisional) until 30 participants are registered 90 days prior to the scheduled date of departure. In light of the early unconfirmed nature of all Emmaus programs, it is recommended that you do not make any personal travel plans until the trip is considered confirmed. Should you desire to purchase personal airline tickets, to make additional hotel arrangements or to purchase any other travel arrangements not under the auspices of Emmaus administration, it is recommended, for your financial protection, that you consult with Emmaus prior to any such purchases. 

 

MEDICAL 

You declare that you are in good health and able to participate in the physical demands of the program. You understand and accept any and all financial responsibilities related to a medical emergency and any subsequent after-treatment. You are required to have international medical hospitalization insurance. It is customary for medical services outside of the home country to require payment in advance of any treatment. You must be prepared to provide financial payment at the time of any unforeseen medical emergency requiring treatment. Cash or credit card is customary. Upon return to your homeland, you then file for reimbursement with your personal insurance company.

AIR TRANSPORTATION 

The passage contract in use by the airlines when the tickets are issued shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and the passenger, and/or any agent.

ACCOMMODATIONS 

Price per person is based on double occupancy with private facilities. We reserve the right to substitute hotels of a similar category for those listed. An additional fee applies to single-room occupancy.

MEALS 

Two meals a day provided unless noted as one or three meals in your trip Itinerary. Special beverages (coffee, tea, sodas, etc.) are not included at lunch or dinner meals. Local water provided in Greece and Israel. Bottled water provided at lunch and dinner in Turkey only. 

 

AIRPORT TRANSFERS 

Only scheduled trip group transfers are included.

BAGGAGE 

You are requested to limit your luggage to 1 primary suitcase, plus 1 small soft carry-on bus bag. Personal baggage transport throughout the program is your responsibility. Emmaus Services, and its agents cannot be responsible for loss, theft or damage to belongings.

SIGHTSEEING AND ENTRANCE FEES 

Inclusive of all sightseeing as per itinerary aboard a private motor coach with the services of an authorized, English-speaking guide. Entrance fees to all sights as per itinerary are included.

SERVICES, CHARGES, AND TAXES 

All service charges and local taxes as imposed by hotels are included in the trip fees. Passports, baggage insurance, laundry, mineral waters, coffee, tea and any items of a personal nature are not included.

Tipping: All tips and service charges are included in your trip fees. Additional voluntary tipping is acceptable. 

PASSPORT AND VISAS 

Your passport must be valid for six months beyond your program's scheduled return date. Non-USA, non-Canada, non-UK, or non-EU passport holders may be required to apply for a pre-arrival tourist entry visa to enter Israel. You will be informed of other countries' passport/visa requirements.  All tourist entry visa fees are the financial responsibility of the participant. 

 

TARIFFS 

All airfares and land rates are considered conditional and subject to adjustment based on any change in tariffs, taxes and international exchange rates. 

DISCLAIMER OF RESPONSIBILITY 

Emmaus Services, Inc. is not a travel agency and is only acting as an intermediary for the suppliers identified on this, or any accompanying documents, in selling services, or in accepting reservations or bookings for services which are not directly supplied by itself (such as air carriage, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, meals, etc.) You will hold as blameless Emmaus Services, its staff, its family members, and its agents for breach of contract or any intentional or careless actions or omissions on the part of such suppliers, which may result in any loss, damage, delay, injury, or increase in program fees to any traveler. Unless the term “guaranteed” is specifically written on the ticket, invoice, or reservation itinerary, Emmaus Services does not guarantee any supplier’s rates, bookings or reservations. It shall not be responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses caused to any traveler in connection with terrorist activities, social or labor unrest, mechanical or construction difficulties, diseases, local laws, climatic conditions, abnormal conditions or developments, or any other actions, omissions, or conditions outside its control. By embarking upon the trip, the traveler voluntarily assumes all personal and financial risks involved with such travel, whether expected or unexpected. Any overnight lodging, ground transportation, flights and meals not included in the original program itinerary as published by Emmaus prior to you original departure are the sole financial responsibility of the traveler.Traveler is hereby warned of such risks, and is advised to obtain appropriate insurance coverage against such risks.

EMMAUS EDUCATIONAL SERVICES CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY

 

A $300 deposit is due at the time of completing the online application.  

 

Cancellation Refunds 

Cancellation and refund policy applies to the entire Land Cost of the trip, including trip cost, internal airfare, park fees, permits, and taxes. We recommend you purchase a travel protection plan to protect your investment.

 

At the time we receive written notice that you are cancelling your participation in a trip, refunds apply as follows:

 

Cancellation within 7 days of registration, in writing, unless within the final payment due timeframe - Full refund of deposit.

 

Cancellation occurring after the initial 7 days of registration, but more than 90 days before departureFull refund of monies paid minus $150 and any charge per person as levied by any and all agents and suppliers. 

 

Cancellation occurring at 90 days prior to departure dateRefund of monies paid minus $300 cancellation fee and any charge per person as levied by any and all agents and suppliers.

 

Cancelled Trips

All Emmaus trips are considered unconfirmed (provisional) until 30 participants are registered 90 days prior to the scheduled date of departure.  If Emmaus cancels any trip due to inadequate enrollment or other cause that makes the trip unfeasible for us to operate, we will inform you at least 45 days prior to departure. In such a case, recoverable funds will be provided. Emmaus is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by trip members preparing for the trip (e.g., non- refundable advance purchase air tickets, visa fees if applicable, clothing, equipment, or medical expenses). Do not purchase your air tickets before the trip is confirmed.  Emmaus recommends you purchase a travel protection plan to protect your investment.  Emmaus may provide alternative travel dates for a postponed trip.

 

Cancellation Due to Major Event

In rare instances a trip is cancelled due to a major unplanned event such as war, labor strike, natural disaster, epidemic, or major world event impacting travel. 

 

Emmaus will refund the portion of the trip cost that is recoverable after using good faith efforts to recover payments already advanced to suppliers (hotels, transportation companies, etc.) We will refund the balance as promptly as possible. However, Emmaus Educational Services does not guarantee recovery of any or all the advance payments made, and our use of good faith efforts to recover these payments will not include legal proceedings. 

 

Emmaus Educational Services is not responsible for expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for a cancelled or postponed trip (e.g., non-refundable purchase of air tickets, visa fees, inoculations, equipment, etc.) or for any additional arrangements should the trip member depart prior to the scheduled group departure date.
